Brisbane DSAQ Camp June 2013

The DSAQ Camp is always a great weekend and this year will be no different! It’s a great chance to make new friends and catch up with old ones while participating in some fun activities.

Date:	9:00am Saturday 22nd June – 1:30pm Monday 24th June
Venue:	Camp North Pine, Old Petrie Town, Joyner

Details	In 2012 we were completely overwhelmed by the response we received when all 40 places were filled in less than 2 weeks. As a result, we are excited to announce that in 2013 we will be holding 2 camp to ensure that as many people as possible are able to participate in this fantastic event. The DSAQ Camp is always a great weekend and this year will be no different! It’s a great chance to make new friends and catch up with old ones while participating in some fun activities. This year our focus is on the skills associated with working as a team and our activities will include team-building challenges, a music session, the famous talent show, a dance party, art, yoga, movie night and sport. The aim is to have fun with friends, learn new skills and gain independence.
Who Should Attend	Anyone with Down syndrome aged 16 and over. All attendees must be current financial members of DSAQ for insurance purposes.
Cost:	$180 including 2 nights accommodation, all meals and all activities Parents Membership of DSAQ is $50 per annum!

World Down Syndrome Day 2013 - Picnic

World Down syndrome day was celebrated in style at the Captain Burke Park, Brisbane. The children ( both big and small) enjoyed exploring the Fire Truck and as the day was hot enjoyed running under the spray of the fire hose.

World Down Syndrome Day 2013

WDSD was celebrated on the Gold coast at Broadwater Parklands, Southport. The day was highlighted by brilliant sunshine, amazing canvases of children, a jumping pillow, face painting and fun for all. Thanks must go to Maree McIntosh and her band of helpers for organising such a fantastic day.

New Years Eve Party 2012

DSAQ Members welcomed in the New Year at the Brisbane New Year’s eve Ball held at the RNA Showgrounds. The men looked dapper and the ladies elegant as they set out for a night on the town. With the theme of ‘heroes and villains’ our members danced the night away and had an absolute blast. There was many a sore head in the morning as they all shared in a BBQ breakfast together at the hotel. Thanks must go to Ball events and Colliers International for making the night possible.
