Child Disability Allowance

Print this Page

As a parent of a child with a disability you are entitled to an allowance for your child until he or she turns 16. A claim form and further information is available from your local Centrelink Office. This form is in two sections. Part 1 is to be filled in by you, the parent, and Part 2 is to be filled in by your doctor. Then return the form to Centrelink. Don't say to yourself "we really don't need the money", because as parents of a child with a disability you are entitled to it. This is a provision made for you by the Federal Government. For more information, goto the Centrelink website and read the pages under Disability & Carers Assistance, Carer's Allowance.
